dave heller over at print mag obvs. knows his stuff. this fella's work was familiar to me but i could never place the name. introducing John Heartfield:

which reminds me, actually. i've meant to get more info about rockwell kent. the prints that i picked up in Saratoga are from a book about his trip to greenland called Salamina. that. shit. is. awesome. would it were that book stores in williamsburg and greenpoint weren't so darned expensive. hm. perhaps this is where my plans for BILLIONS can come in. opening an affordable art book store............that isn't just duplicating the masses of libros being hawked by lovely folk on bedford ave each weekend. hmmm.

kent just kills it. his woodblocks appeal to me much more than the paintings, though i haven't seen a painting in person so perhaps it's like experiencing an albert bierstadt or friedrich in the flesh. subliiiiiime.
ahem. in other news, i am ever in need of new music these days which is bizarre only because

cool fella over at icomefromreykjavik has a great tune that slays like puppy fuzz on twinkle. lovely.
