jesse pollock's photographs of his rad fuckin' life in and around san fran frequently knock me right outta my skull into a spacey voyeurism. one moment i'm happening upon a neato pic of a picked-clean-save-a-perfectly-intact-head-with-spinal-cord fawn (whAA?) and the next i'm late as shit for uh...everything.
it's worth it:
i'll get around to figurin' out a means to tell myself why i'm really so into 'em, but jesus i can't tell you how bad ass his photos of his gf, evelyn, are. it's bonkers how normal it is (and it is, and i tell myself it is, and i want it to be because i'm embracing le 21st century and new notions of privacy) that i even have an awareness of dude and his lady. i have a happy talent for falling in love with the love of folks i don't know. he makes it easy, as this video practically made my friggin' week.

which reminds me, actually. i've meant to get more info about rockwell kent. the prints that i picked up in Saratoga are from a book about his trip to greenland called Salamina. that. shit. is. awesome. would it were that book stores in williamsburg and greenpoint weren't so darned expensive. hm. perhaps this is where my plans for BILLIONS can come in. opening an affordable art book store............that isn't just duplicating the masses of libros being hawked by lovely folk on bedford ave each weekend. hmmm.

kent just kills it. his woodblocks appeal to me much more than the paintings, though i haven't seen a painting in person so perhaps it's like experiencing an albert bierstadt or friedrich in the flesh. subliiiiiime.

ahem. in other news, i am ever in need of new music these days which is bizarre only because this past winter i could barely make it out of the 60s and 70s. jp just alerted me to Lio from belgium and decades past, so perhaps i shouldn't be celebrating my return to contemporary tunez just yet. or perhaps i should just shut the fuck up and listen (with prejudice, of course).
cool fella over at icomefromreykjavik has a great tune that slays like puppy fuzz on twinkle. lovely.
